How to get from Malaga Airport to Marbella

There are three realistic ways of making this journey, and a private transfer is not always the cheapest one. It is worth knowing the difference before you book.

The public bus

A coach service runs from the airport to Marbella bus station for a few euros. It is the cheapest option by a distance. It also runs to a timetable, stops on the way, leaves you at the station rather than at your door, and becomes awkward with large luggage, golf bags or a group. If you are travelling light, alone and not in a hurry, it does the job.

A taxi

Available on arrival, metered, and fine for one to four passengers. You queue at the rank, the fare depends on traffic and time of day, and a group needs several cars that arrive separately.

A private transfer

Booked in advance for a fixed price, with a vehicle sized for your party, straight to your address. It makes most sense when you are travelling as a group, landing late, carrying equipment or simply want the journey settled before you fly.

How long is the transfer from Malaga Airport to Marbella?+

Between 40 and 50 minutes to the centre of Marbella in normal traffic. Puerto Banús and San Pedro add another five to ten minutes. Summer weekends and rush hour can stretch it, and we plan your pick-up with that in mind.

How far is Marbella from Malaga Airport?+

Around 55 km by road, mostly on the AP-7 and A-7 along the coast.

Where does the bus from Malaga Airport arrive in Marbella?+

The public coach arrives at Marbella bus station, north of the centre. From there you still need a taxi to most hotels and villas. A private transfer takes you to the address itself.

Can you transfer large groups in one go?+

Yes. Our minibuses carry up to 21 passengers and our coaches up to 60, so a group travels together in a single vehicle instead of splitting across several cars.
